STARTING WITH OCTOBER 17, 2016, THE UNESCO CHAIR IN BIOETHICS – CLUJ UNIT HAS BEEN CLOSED DOWN.

The Romanian Unit – UNESCO Chair in Bioethics

  • Aims at developing research and teaching activities in the field of bioethics and biopolitics, using the perspective of social sciences and humanist sciences, with a focus on communication sciences and philosophy. RUUCIB also invites specialists from the bio-medical sciences to participate at the activities and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary programs in bioethics;
  • Supports the development of the courses in bioethics, biopolitics and applied ethics;
  • Supports the development of interdisciplinary research in bioethics, biopolitics and applied ethics;
  • Aims at encouraging high-quality publications in the field of bioethics, biopolitics and applied ethics;
  • Supports the creation of interdisciplinary groups for discussing and solving actual problems of bioethics, biopolitics and applied ethics;
  • Fosters the organization of conferences in bioethics, biopolitics and applied ethics;
  • Actively promotes the publications of its members;
  • Supports the participation at the activities and international programs organized by the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics and the other network participants;
  • Sustains the students’ and researchers’ exchange in programs in the framework of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics network;
  • Supports the organization of trainings in bioethics, biopolitics and applied ethics;
  • Offers ethical counseling to individual and organizations.
